Our Story
A Family Business
What started as a hobby turned into a family business. One November afternoon, our “founding father,” Jim Hunt, ordered a candle making kit and made his first batch of tin candles at the kitchen counter. He found it intriguing and relaxing, and it didn’t take long before hundreds of pounds of wax were being delivered to our door and the downstairs basement became his studio. After gifting candles to friends and family members, we had to ask:
Why not turn this into a business?
Honoring Our Roots
The name of our company takes us back to our roots growing up in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts and in the shadows of the American Revolution. Our label depicts the evening of April 18, 1775 when candles were hung in the (Old) North Church, alerting the Colonial Minuteman of the approach of British Troops to the Concord/Lexington townships, made famous by the story of Paul Revere. In addition to our name, our signature collection honors this story and celebrates our family's New England roots.
From Our Home To Yours
From the melting of the soy wax, to the packaging of your candle, everything happens in our house. Jim Hunt leads the charge in the making of the candles while his wife, Lori, oversees the branding, local craft fairs, and all other odds and ends. His daughter Kelly manages the website and photography.
